American 18 Racing Clinic

Participants must be checked out in order to register and to helm a boat during the races.  If you currently participate in lessons are not checked out and you sign up, the coaches will try and place you on a boat with Coach Julie or Coach Alan, so that you will be able to take the tiller during races.  Everyone will have time on the tiller. 

The clinic starts with a pre-race briefing and pairing up of sailors.  Boats leave the dock and go out to the race course where friendly fun racing is held. 

The boats then return to the dock, placed on their trailers, washed and put away. 

A post-race briefing will be held in the club house to talk about what transpired during the races with regard to the rules of racing, starting strategies, sail trim, boat handling and general race course management.  This is a great opportunity to meet other American 18 sailors and network for future crew opportunities.
