Luffing Lassie Race Day

The Luffing Lassies “LL” is a women’s sailing/ social organization that meets at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron every Thursday from September through May. Luffing Lassies are a part of the Sarasota Sailing Squadron on the precipice of the 50th anniversary.  LL engages in teaching and promoting sailing and sailboat racing amongst its members and in the community. The Luffing Lassies predominantly sail and race the Sunfish. They also have 3 fleets of crewed boats, 420’s, Flying Scots, and Hobie Waves. The 420s and Flying Scots also partake in the weekly races. Our Race Committee is trained and certified in Safety and RC practices.

The Luffing Lassies offer an Introduction to Sailing (ITS) and Racing (ITR) two weeks in September. This year’s 2021 ITS/ITR classes are filled. To put your name on a waitlist for Fall 2022, email your information to the Luffing Lassie Captain at lassiecaptain@gmail.com
