Sarasota has educational events and outreach opportunities in order to promote and improve water quality in our community.

One of these exciting opportunities is our annual Citizen Seagrass Survey and Festival. This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to get out in Sarasota Bay to observe and survey our beautiful seagrass beds. Additionally, a nature festival with multiple vendors provides information and demos on ways to reduce pollution, promote sustainability, teach about composting, and more. This has been made possible with the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program’s partnership in planning these events, and Sarasota Sailing Squadron hosting them.
